cosmoONE, a member of OTE Group, received the top award in its class at the awards ceremony of the leading eBusiness event “e-volution awards”, which took place on Monday,19 December 2011 at the Onassis Cultural Center.
cosmoONE, from among about 70 nominees, was awarded for its e-auction service in the “e-Services to Businesses” category, having submitted a comprehensive analysis of the experience it possesses as well of the competitive advantages it has offered to shareholders and clients alike through the uninterrupted provision of this service since 2001.
The evaluation was conducted by a prestigious Awards Committee comprising of experts in the area, university professors and representatives of institutions (G.Doukidis, P. Kourouthanasis, M. Vrechopoulos, I. Kourniotis, P. Gezerlis, G. Syrros).
Mr Thanasis Petmezas, General Manager of the company, received the award from Mr S. Komninos, Secretary-General for Commerce of the Ministry of Development, Competitiveness and Shipping and committed to bring more success in the near future. Mr P. Gezerlis, member of the Awards Committee, who presented the reasons behind the selection for each award, referred to the high level of service and the 60% market share held by cosmoONE in the area of e-Procurement and e-Auctions.
Mr Petmezas referred characteristically to some of cosmoONE’s remarkable and impressive successes, in particular:
Successful conduct of over 4,200 e-procurement procedures and 2,200 e-auctions of different types: English, Dynamic, Yankee, Japanese, Multi Variable Bidding, as well as auctions of the Greek government based on the two mathematical formulas for the most advantageous bid.
Saleof 6,750 cars through 150 simultaneous e-auctions and over 400 registered buyers per Auction
e-Auction for the provision of real estate services with the concurrent submission of bids for 18 variables which lasted 16 hours, was completed after 90 ten-minute extensions with 213 bids and a benefit of millions of euros.
Cable auction worth 18 million euros through the development of a special system for the electronic submission of bids, through which 2,762 bids were submitted in 7 hours.
Successful organization of 52 English e-Auctions for contractorships in one week on behalf of a Telecommunications Organization.
The awards event was organized by Boussias Communications, under the auspices of the Ministry of Development, Competitiveness and Shipping. Scientific support to the event was provided by the e-Business Research Center (ELTRUN) of theAthensUniversityof Economics & Business.
The awards ceremony was attended by senior executives of the market, presidents and members of agencies that support the institution (HMA-HIICM, HICS, EPAM, HAMAC, SEPE), as well as representatives of the political leadership of the Ministry of Development, Competitiveness & Shipping.
